An Ace is seen as the one in a suit of cards and is usually representative of the beginning. The Ace of Wands has strong ties to Mars, the planet of drive and aggression. It is tied to the Fire sign of Aries, which is matched to the card of The Emperor and is associated with fatherhood and leadership. Much like The Fool card in the Major Arcana, this is seen as the start of a new adventure.

As with all other Aces, the Ace of Wands features a hand protruding from the clouds. There are branches growing out of the wand and old leaves falling off symbolizing growth. The fertile ground further drives the point of abundance home. An expansive of green hills house a castle in the distance, a promise of opportunity yet to come.

Upright- Inspiration, creative spark, enthusiasm

An Upright Ace of Wands is a sign of ideas, inspiration, and growth. It encourages you to live your truth and pursue any passions that may currently be at the bottom of your list of priorities. Let your motivation be your spiritual guide on this journey and lean less on logical thinking. What may not seem to be logical at the time may blossom along the way into something unexpected or take off in a new direction. Someone had to be the first person to decide to scramble an egg and while that person may have seemed mad at first, we would not be able to enjoy omelets without them. Follow your inner passions, you never know what opportunities may fall into your lap as a result.

Reverse- Delays, hesitancy, sudden change

The reversed Ace of Wands tells a story of trials and obstacles yet to come. If you have a goal set that you are near to achieving, it may be the case that you will soon find it impossible to complete. Much like the Upright side of this card is all about inspiration, you may find the creative half of your brain to be blocked. Any existing project that you have may quickly become stagnant. This card speaks to you that patience is the key to waiting out this creative block and offers the advice that meditation may turn that creative tap back on.

**In a yes/no reading, an Ace of Wands is a yes.
